In a move that signals a robust resurgence in international travel and a deepening of ties between two of Asia’s most influential economies, All Nippon Airways (ANA) has officially announced a significant expansion of its service on the India-Japan corridor. Starting March 29, 2026, the Japanese carrier will upgrade its Narita–Mumbai route from a five-times-weekly service to a full daily operation.
Currently, ANA operates the Narita–Mumbai route (Flights NH 829/830) five times a week, skipping Wednesdays and Mondays. However, under the newly unveiled FY2026 international schedule, the airline will fill those gaps.
From March 29 to July 17, 2026, travelers can expect seven round-trips per week. This daily nonstop service ensures that Mumbai’s travelers have the ultimate flexibility. No longer will business meetings or vacation departures have to be squeezed into specific days of the week; the daily frequency allows for spontaneous travel and more efficient corporate planning.
In a display of data-driven fleet management, ANA has noted that this daily surge is part of a seasonal strategy. Following the peak period, from July 18 to August 31, 2026, the service will be adjusted to three weekly round-trips (operating on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays).
While Mumbai sees a seasonal boost, India’s capital remains a pillar of consistent connectivity. ANA confirmed that its Delhi–Haneda service (NH 837/838) will continue its daily operations without interruption.
This dual-gateway strategy is vital. By connecting Delhi to Haneda (closer to central Tokyo) and Mumbai to Narita (a major international hub for onward connections to North America), ANA is effectively blanketing the Indian subcontinent with options. It allows Indian travelers not only to reach Japan but to use Tokyo as a world-class transit point for global journeys.
The strengthening of air links is rarely just about tourism. The India-Japan economic corridor is buzzing with activity. From Japanese investments in India’s infrastructure and tech sectors to Indian professionals finding new opportunities in Japan’s aging but high-tech economy, the need for face-to-face interaction has never been higher.
Students, too, are a growing demographic. With Japan actively courting international students to diversify its universities, the daily Mumbai flight provides a reliable link for the thousands of Indian scholars who call Japan home.
For those who have flown with ANA, the news of increased frequency is a welcome relief. As a consistent SKYTRAX 5-Star rated airline, ANA brings a level of hospitality (known in Japan as Omotenashi) that turns a long-haul flight into a cultural experience. From world-class Japanese cuisine served at 35,000 feet to meticulously designed cabins that prioritize passenger comfort, the airline has set a high bar for the Mumbai-Tokyo route.
Furthermore, ANA’s commitment to sustainability and leadership in aviation technology makes it a preferred choice for the modern, environmentally conscious traveler.
