Julia Sykes began teaching piano at fourteen years of age. She went on to study a Bachelor of Music Education at the University of Western Australia. After completing university and teaching piano full-time for several years, she decided to write her own piano program, the reason being that she could not find a piano course that created well-rounded musicians.
