The Centre for eCommerce and Communications (CeCC) is located with the University of Ballarat Research Portfolio. Through research, knowledge transfer and commercial activities CeCC promotes innovation through the application of new technologies.

CeCC was first established during 1998 to facilitate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) use and to promote the role of the internet through enhanced regional connections, partnership initiatives, and the application of ICT processes. Centre activities were primarily focused on supporting the practical application of ICT in a regional and rural context.

Today, CeCC actively pursues partnerships with industries, organisations, enterprises and communities with the aim of contributing to and enhancing technology application and knowledge transfer. CeCC activities contribute to the achievement of the University of Ballarat 2020 agenda and mission which is:
